Ensenada, Mexico (August 24-25, 2024)
Nestled along the Pacific coast, Ensenada is known for its stunning scenery and cultural richness. However, many families in this region face economic challenges that limit their healthcare access, especially for vision problems.
In partnership with the Newport-Irvine and Ensenada Rotary Clubs, we mobilized 50 local volunteers to conduct a large-scale eye screening event. Over two days, we screened more than 200 children and adults, identifying numerous cases of uncorrected refractive errors— conditions that severely hinder learning and productivity.

The joy of providing prescription glasses to those in need was palpable. Many individuals expressed gratitude, as for some, this was their first experience with clear sight. Additionally, we distributed Suh glasses to those who could not afford any corrective lenses. Medical treatments were administered, and patients requiring further surgical consultations were referred to local ophthalmologists, ensuring their continued care.

Our mission in Ensenada was more than just providing glasses; it was about instilling hope and improving the quality of life for families who had felt overlooked by the healthcare system.
